This system is designed to transmit data from various host computers through an intelligent router (MSC - Mulitsite Controller) up to 23 Base Stations in the network. The system is completely redundant from the router, to the Microwave links, to the Base Stations.
By utilizing the industry standard ATCS (Advanced
Train Control System) protocol the system can maintain efficient routing
between the Base and the Mobiles. The ARIA-GLB radio mobile units and
terminals feature GPS in each locomotive. There are 3 redundant DGPS
stations across the network transmitting data through the MSC to the
Base Station to accommodate 1 meter accuracy, reflecting the relative
position of each locomotive.
- Vehicles can be tracked to 1 meter accuracy across a wide geographic
area.
- Simrex Multisite Controller keeps track of the last position the
train was at and send message back through the appropriate Base Station.
- Radios will switch frequencies automatically based on position.
- The protocol used can be ATCS (Advanced Train Control System) or
IP (Internet Protocol).
- The Base Stations can be connected by Microwave, Fiber Optics, RF
etc..
